Arbroath Abbey is one of the most important symbols of Scottish nationhood. The Abbey is associated with the signing of the Declaration of Arbroath in the year 1320. It is becoming more popular each year and attracting many more visitors with an interest in Scottish history and features a £1.8m visitor centre. It's the venue for the annual Tartan Day celebrations which occur each year on April 6 to mark the anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Arbroath.
Angus is the heartland of the game of Golf. It is home to some of the very finest golf courses in the world including the Championship Course Carnoustie. Tiger Woods stated it is "the most challenging, if not the finest, course in the world".
Lunan Bay Angus

Lunan Bay is a beautiful beach of sand backed by dunes and surrounded by low cliffs to the north and south. It is large inlet of the North Sea on the Angus coast and is situated to the south of Montrose between Boddin Point and Lang Craig. Lunan Water enters the bay near the village of Lunan. The beach is beautiful and is a great location to visit to relax and unwind. Swimmers and surfing need to take great care due to the strong currents in the area. Nesting puffins and other wildlife can be found in the area.
There is no shortage of things to do in Angus even on the odd rainy day, the only problem is fitting it all in!
